ASI Community, Inc. is managed by a board of directors and our market manager. We have a number of committees which are responsible for various aspects of our organization. We depend on our volunteers to help with a variety of activities which make ASI Community a strong and vibrant organization.

Cassie Axtell, President Cassie joined the Bellaire community back in 2008 when she and her husband bought a get-a-way house on Intermediate River. They retired here in 2020 and now live on Lake Bellaire. In addition to a 35 year career as a pediatric nurse, Cassie was extensively involved in the Boy Scouts as her two sons achieved Eagle Scout status: camping, hiking and climbing right along with them. Cassie also served in the US Air Force Reserves and the Michigan Air National Guard, retiring at the rank of Captain. Cassie and her husband currently coach the girls’ varsity lacrosse team in Traverse City and are members of the Elk Rapids Golf Club. In addition to serving as the President of ASI, Community; Cassie also serves on the board of the Antrim Women’s Alliance. |

Cherese Villareal, Vice President Cherese currently lives in Bellaire, moving from Oklahoma to Michigan in 2021. She is active in Antrim Women’s Alliance, serves on the SPRC committee of Bellaire Community United Methodist Church, is a Realtor with Century 21 Northland-Elk Rapids, and currently serves as a board member with the Aspire North Realtor Board. Cherese joined the ASI Community board in 2025, serving as vice president in 2026. Cherese shares her home with 3 golden retrievers and loves taking them on walks. |

Sylvia Schonauer-Kalchik, Treasurer Sylvia is very active in the Antrim County community, volunteering at several nonprofits in the Antrim County area and her local church. She serves as Treasurer on the ASI Community Inc. Board since 2018, is a founding member of Antrim Women’s Alliance where she is currently Treasurer, and she serves as Chair of the Antrim Scholars college access program she cofounded. In her spare time, she enjoys a good game of pickleball, gardening at her home in Bellaire, and other outdoor activities. Sylvia is a licensed, Ph.D. engineer and retired from the Kellogg Co., Battle Creek in 2016. |

Steve Dell, Secretary Steve retired as program manager for child and adult services in 2001 from the State Department of Human Services in Kalkaska with 32 years of service. He is currently the secretary for ASI Community Inc, chairman of the Helena Township Parks and Recreation Committee since 2014, Treasurer of the Alden Meadows Condominium Association (AMCA) where he has also served as president and vice-president. For recreation, Steve enjoys playing pickleball and tennis. Steve currently resides in Alden with his beloved dog, Jinxy. |

Eric Erlandson Eric recently joined the ASI board and volunteers in the market barns. He is a retired engineer from Northville Mi. He enjoys hockey, skiing, boating and biking. He is active in the community and with the Methodist church. Eric currently resides in Bellaire. |

Chris Herb Chris was raised in the Cleveland area and has lived throughout the Midwest and the South. He was fortunate to spend 37 years working for the LEGO Group in many sales and management positions and traveled all over the world bringing excellent toys to children. He and his wife Laurie have been coming to Currently Chris is involved with ASI Community, Three Lakes Association, his neighboring HOA and with the Commission on Aging, Meals-on-Wheels program. Other interests include traveling, all sports and cooking. |

Stephanie Koppe Stephanie is a licensed REALTOR® with Real Estate One in Bellaire. She is also an active member of the Antrim Women’s Alliance. She is an avid golfer, bowler, and loves kayaking. She is a Past President for the Aspire North Realtors. She has been coming to Bellaire all her life, until she moved here full time in 2000. |

Dave Simcox David was trained as a biochemist and then served as a global business manager. He has over 20 years of experience in commercializing and selling products in agriculture, pharmaceuticals and biotechnology. David currently serves as a Director of Agri-Neo, a food safety biotechnology company in Toronto. He and his wife Ruth live in Bellaire. |

Bob Rodriguez Bob has lived in Bellaire since 1985. Since his retirement from Northwestern Michigan college in 2019, he has been active in the community with ASI serving as president for 5 years, now past president, on the board for Bellaire Youth Initiative, and a Trustee for his local church. He plays old guy hockey and likes to fly fish. |

Bryan J. Hardy, Administrative Manager and Market Master Bryan “B” is a multi-generational resident of Bellaire, graduating from Bellaire High School in 1985. He has been very active in the community serving 30 years with the Bellaire Lions Club, near four terms on the Village Council as a Trustee/President Pro Tem, Past President of the Bellaire Youth Initiative, and over 45 years accompanist to young musicians at Solo & Ensemble Festival, choral accompanist, and manager/pianist in his own Standards quartet. He currently is Director of Music at St. Luke Catholic Church and a Realtor with Real Estate One in Bellaire. His 35+ years of senior management roles at both Shanty Creek Resort and as Plant Manager at Barnes Precision Valve has provided him with knowledge in many facets of business. He enjoys music, golf, and spending time with family and friends. |
